43. Ian Wilson in “Dreamscapes” | Lucidity, Precognition, Qualia & Interconnectedness

Ryan from Occulture offered an opportunity to discuss dreams and this is the result of that discussion. Thanks Ryan for a wonderful discussion.

We’re slashing through your subconscious like a nightmare on Elm Street with this supernatural sonic paralysis, and we’re diggin’ deep into the dreamscape in this one with Ian Wilson. Ian is a private dream researcher and dream explorer who has been recognized by members of the International Association for the Study of Dreams as a pioneer in the exploration of precognitive dream phenomena. Ian is also the man behind the website YouAreDreaming.org, which is a wet dream for anyone interested in dream research, consciousness or anything associated with these fields. Ian has tons of free articles, abstracts and ebooks available on his website, including a book titled “You Are Dreaming”, which I stumbled across a few years back and recommend to anyone with even a passing interest in this topic. We’ll be digging into the material in that book and much more. So why wait? Let’s curl up, close our eyes and cast this pod off into a space where the kick is something you get while you’re sleeping and where dreams really do come true. Enjoy.

Could Physical Reality really be a Dream?

Could Physical Reality really be a Dream?

Are you having a dream that lasts a lifetime?  Can reality be universal dream of a cosmic mind?  What if the answer is yes?

If this reality was some type of dream, then there should be some evidence which shows a relationship between the dream world and the waking world.  The first red-flag that comes to mind is directly connected to something known as “Precognitive Dreaming”.  The idea of precognition spans the written record and Aristotle in 350B.C.E wrote a paper entitled, “On Prophesying by Dreams” http://classics.mit.edu/Aristotle/prophesying.html where he debated the notion that people in his time were describing having these types of dreams.

Deja Vu which is a very common type experience which most people have, is a feeling that comes with a type of deja vu aura where new settings, events and circumstances bring a strong sense of familiarity as if you had been there before.  What is not so widely known about the deja phenomena is many people link the source of memory which brings about the familiarity to something they dreamed about in the past.  For a comprehensive list of precognitive dream types and examples and evidence I recommend reading my paper, “Theory of Precognitive Dreams” which is open source and freely available on-line.  Read: Theory of Precognitive Dreams [PDF]

Frequency studies as mentioned in that paper predict statistically that you could already be one of those types of people who already have first-person experiences with dreams that come true.  If science can finally answer this age old phenomena of precognitive dreams; then we will see the first use-case where dreams and reality have a relationship which will help reveal this covert relationship between dreams and this reality.

The next red-flag comes from experiments in quantum mechanics which show that our reality is not exactly as physical as we believe it to be.  When physicists first discovered particle/wave duality, this caused quite a stir in the physics community.  What this means is sub-atomic particles could behave like a wave, or like a particle based on certain conditions.

When an electron is not being measured or observed it creates an interference pattern which is like a ripple in water that creates the wave pattern or interference pattern.  When observed it behaves as physical particles.

“Quantum Theory Demonstrated: Observation Affects Reality”

“In a study reported in the February 26 issue of Nature (Vol. 391, pp. 871-874), researchers at the Weizmann Institute of Science have now conducted a highly controlled experiment demonstrating how a beam of electrons is affected by the act of being observed. The experiment revealed that the greater the amount of “watching,” the greater the observer’s influence on what actually takes place.”

If you thought it was just the sub-atomic particle that behaved this way, an entire molecule of Carbon atoms which form the Carbon-60 molecule known as a buckyball also shows interference patterns.

“Wave-particle duality seen in carbon-60 molecules”

“The Vienna team sent a collimated beam of carbon-60 molecules through a slit made of silicon nitride and detected the interference pattern by ionizing the molecules with a laser and then counting the ions.”

What determines when a particle or atom should be have as a wave-form or a solid state is one of the mind-boggling questions for Physics.  One of the answers to this new problem comes from Physicist Tom Campbell who worked for Nasa and the Department of Defence.  He describes the collapse of wave-function as a requirement only when the larger-system renders the particle because we exist in a Virtual Reality.  His theory which is extensive and covers more than just the virtual reality theory  describes that in a virtual reality, the computer doesn’t need to render all the data on the hard-drive so to speak, just the data that is being observed.  This means when we are observing a moment in time/space only the information required to render out the experience is being rendered into particles.  To bring you up to speed on this theory here is a link to his youtube channel and videos. http://www.youtube.com/user/twcjr44

The idea that we are living in a virtual reality is also described by many other mathematicians and physicists such as Nick Bolstrom, Brian Whitworth and Mark Wheeler to name a few.  This has spawned a new branch of physics called digital physics and a theory called simulation theory.

For more details I have written an article which covers this in some greater detail called, “Time and space are not what you think.” http://you-are-dreaming.blogspot.ca/2013/09/time-and-space-are-not-what-you-think.html

If reality is simply information that is accessed by an observer which in turn a computer-like system then renders that data into particles; were lies the relationship between the observer and the observed in this equation?  This brings us back to what dreams are, and how they fit in to this reality system as a whole.

The first idea that must be addressed is the flow of information from the server to the client in a virtual reality.  This information is what we call a datastream which is simply information.  It is up to the client to process this information and render the data into some meaningful view.  If we look at objective reality as information; then this information represents the physical datastream which through our physical senses we download the data, process the data and render a final product of the data in a meaningful view.

This relationship between objective data and our selves as the client observing this data is already self-evident.  We may not recognize as the observer how important the mechanics of perception and information processing by the brain is; nor see how fundamental the final rendered product of this information actually is.  It’s importance in my opinion is beyond the scope of just physical reality and deeply connects to the dreamstate and any other state we may find ourselves in where information is being rendered into a view from any caveat of consciousness in it’s many altered states.

Why is it self-evident that you are rendering data from the objective world using your physical senses as the inputs that download this information?  If you want to see this in action, close your eyes and the final-product of the mind rendering visual information will stop.  Open them again and you will continue to render visual information.  Where are you rendering this information is important to understanding this fundamental this final-product of information processing and rendering by the brain actually is.

Unlike a computer which uses a computer screen that provides the feedback of what binary information looks like at the information level, our body does not have a physical computer screen whereby it renders our perception of reality.  The brain which is simply a neural network of neurons has to simulate the computer screen in a virtual way.

It’s worth mentioning how through the ages philosophers tackled this relationship between what the mind generates and what the observer observes dates back to Plato’s Cave analogy.  Rene Descartes recognized that the brain preformed some type of pre-processing on sensory input and projected this into some kind of internal screen where a “little man” the homunculus sat in the seat of the soul which resided in the pineal gland, and this has become known as “The Cartesian Theatre”.  Anthony Peake a British Author further expands this idea into what he calls the “Bohmian IMAX”.

In many ways, this internal theatre acts like a holodeck like we see in Star Trek as it simulates 3d space, time and every sensory quality of perception in a meaningful way.  This doesn’t mean however that every detail exactly represents what is out there in the objective datastream.  Our senses are very limited and the brain does fill in the blanks as is evident by this simple optical illusion provided in this link: http://gifs.gifbin.com/052012/1337880361_ugly_celebrities_optical_illusion.gif

These subjective differences in how the brain processes sensory information is evident in how a colour blind person perceives the objective data which would appear different to a person who is not colour blind.  These subjective qualities are also recognized as something called, “Qualia” or the experience of reality but does not imply what the experience is as having total objectivity.  This is likely why some people prefer chocolate ice-cream and others vanilla.  Why some like country music and others prefer classical rock.  How we perceive our reality is filtered and rendered subjectively; what that implies is that we only see is our experience of reality in a filtered down little-world view.

That doesn’t mean it completely omits what is out there in the objective datastream; our brain does an amazing job of putting all that information together in a very close approximation. If it didn’t we would likely never be able to drive cars en mass as everyone would be crashing and causing all sorts of mayhem.  We wouldn’t have accurate measurements down to the micron because what we do have in terms of resolution and is a very close approximation of that objective data.

Again, if you feel that you are not simply observing an experience of reality in this Cartesian Theatre simply close your eyes and it will become very apparent that what you are experiencing is a mind-generated rendering, a final product based on information processing and data inputs through the physical body.  Thus we see the client (you and your body) and the server (objective reality) in terms of a metaphorical relationship.

How does dreaming stack up in terms of datastreams and information processing?  Is there a relationship between the Cartesian Theatre and how our dream content is rendered?  The answer in my opinion is again self-evident that when we are asleep and dreaming, the content of the dream is also rendering on the same Cartesian Theatre that our sensory-perceptions when we are awake are rendering on.

What is interesting to note with dreams however is the dream datastream.  What is programming and encoding this datastream?  What are the inputs downloading that data?  We already know where that data is being rendered so we need to look closer at the first two questions.

Dream content is mind-generated meaning many unconscious processes are involved directly linked to you, and your own consciousness whereby what you think during a dream; renders out into a view on the Cartesian Theatre.  Dreams themselves when we are actively having them often appear as real as our waking life.  For most people, they do not realize they were actually in a dream until they wake up.

This is not an uncommon occurrence for most people.  Dreams can translate into spectacular virtual reality simulations rich with both content and sensory feedback.  They can appear physical and solid.  You can simulate sight, hearing, touch and even taste and smell during a dream.  Hot/Cold and pain can also be experienced during a dream depending on how sensory aware you are during them.

Like cheat-codes in computer games, lucid dreamers can experience “God” mode where the dream content doesn’t hurt them, or “no-clipping” mode where they can pass through walls and objects in the dream state.  Just an interesting observation and fun to note for you gamers out there.

For a more comprehensive look at dreaming, I’ve also written a free e-book entitled, “You Are Dreaming” which you can freely download here: You Are Dreaming Free eBook [PDF]

In understanding that a dream reality is a virtual reality created by a system of consciousness, it is also important to note that you are that system of consciousness that is creating your dream content.  It’s prudent to dismiss yourself as the director of your dream content assuming you lack the aptitude to control your dreams.  It’s more important to note that you may just be in the passenger’s seat of your unconscious processes rather in the driver’s seat which is why lucid dreaming becomes vital for better dream control and exploration.

What we do know about dreams is the fact they can be very real when we have them, and the reasons for that can be directly linked to how information is processed and rendered on this Cartesian Theatre.  Both dreams and reality render there, and both offer unique experiences directly related to you, the observer.

If we examine dreams, there is another self-evident fact regarding what programs the dream and also what the dream content is rendered as.  We know that every detail from light, colour, sound and objects including 3d space itself in a dream is the final rendering of information processing.  Unlike atoms and Boson’s dreams content is made up of a more fundamental rudimentary “bit”, and that “bit” is thought.  Thought is the programming language of dreams and is the most fundamental component of that system.  If physical reality is simply a much larger dream at a Universal scale then it would also hold true that thought programs the objective datastream as well.

Which makes thought very important for both objective reality and dreams so raising some conjecture regarding this topic is very important to understanding some deep underlying mechanics of reality as a whole.  Fortunately, there are some simple self-evident exercises that can help you see thought in action as to how it programs the Cartesian Theatre and how the Theatre simply responds to thought in the most profound way.

When we often think of thought, we associate it to the inner-voice which represents our inner-monologue which is a sub-vocalization in our conditioned language.  When you read this text you should have a faint auditory sound of your voice reading out each word.  This is thought in the form of sound providing feedback on your Cartesian Theatre.

When you imagine an apple for example with your eyes closed.  The visual image of an apple will appear on this canvas in a faint way.  The more you relax and focus on this visual form of thinking, the more contrast and resolution will occur and the image can become much more vivid and crisp.

This ability to think in sensory forms is not limited to just sound and thought.  You can apply the same attention-focusing techniques to taste, touch and smell.  This is most evident when you are falling asleep and the dream starts to take shape.  Dreams simply perfect in action how our thoughts form complex sensory feedback on the Cartesian Theatre.  This is very self-evident for lucid dreamers or people who pay attention to their thoughts when falling asleep.

This more advance sensory-form of thinking is a type of language.  A form of non-verbal communication between aspects of yourself.  Sigmund Freud recognized that our consciousness was compartmentalized and composed of what he felt was the id, ego, super-ego and unconscious.  How these parts communicate amongst themselves is related to these variances in verbal and non-verbal communication.  You already see in action how these systems work to produce very elaborate dreams during sleep.

What if this network of consciousness of which we are a part of extends to the Universe itself?  Some kind of cosmic mind whereby we are all individual parts; yet still connected?  How would this larger part communicate to it’s smaller parts?  How would the smaller parts interpret that language and communication?

Through precognitive dreams for those of you who have them, you are already seeing in action how a dream, which is composed entirely of thought represents a future event.  When the dream actualizes the dream seems to materialize as an event in objective reality.  For those of you who do not, well that missing ingredient is very helpful in understanding this covert relationship between thought and the reality it creates.

This possibility that physical reality could also be derived from dreaming or thought is not a new idea.  The question really remains if it’s true, how do you see this within your own experiences?  And if you can accept that possibility… what next?

Many of these ideas are either touched on or expanded on in the following abstract and book:

The Theory of Precognitive Dreams

For those of you interested in Precognitive Dreams, I would like to present a new abstract that I’ve written entitled, “The Theory of Precognitive Dreams” edits and contributions by Dr. Art Funkhouser.

The paper described and categorizes precognitive dream experience into lower-order and higher-order groups,  provides compelling research and evidence in favor of precognition,  details how to lucid dream and explore this particular experience in first-person and provides theory as to why it occurs.

This should prove to be a valuable asset for those of you who have this experience and insightful for those who do not.

Here is the link for the paper.  If you like, please share as it’s public domain.

Precognitive Dreams Explained aka Déjà Rêvé

Precognitive Dreams Explained.

As of March 1st, 2013 Phil has never been to Victoria BC. He has never met Jane. He has never seen or heard of the Old Vic Fish and Chip Restaurant. Phil is an casual dreamer and keeps a dream journal, when he has time writes them down. We will refer to his entry based on the type of dream.

Jane has never met Phil, she lives in Victoria BC and frequents the street that Old Vic Fish and Chips is on. She’s never been on TV, no facebook account, doesn’t work well with computers. Phil has never had any real-life exposure to her.

We’ll start at the top level and work to the more advanced stages of precognitive dreaming.

The first lower order is commonly known as Deja Vu.

Deja Vu

It is my hypothesis that “some” Deja Vu stems from sleep induced amnesia, when the real life event occurs the patterns triggers an unknown memory from an amnesiac state causing the deja vu aura and feelings of unknown familiarity.

Deja Vu

Phil just feels deja vu but hasn’t the slightest clue why or how and stares at Jane covering her breasts to his greater disappointment.

The second lower order is “Symbolic Precognitive Dreams”.

Symbolic Precognitive Dreams

The future event is distorted by other psychological perception factors causing the strange symbolism that we commonly observe in dreams to overlay the future event. However some symbols survive strong enough, in this case Jane, that when the dream come’s true, Phil remembers visually meeting this person in his strange dream.

Phil’s Journal Entry March 1st, 2013 – “I had this strange dream I was at a circus and there was this cute girl talking to me.”

Symbolic Precognitive Dream

As you can see, his textual summary neglects details like what type of circus, that there was any elephants present. A picture is worth a 1,000 words and dream-to-text translations never reveal what the dreamer is recording in memory during any dream.

The higher-order dreams now follow all will be variance of “Literal Precognitive Dreaming”.

A Literal Precognitive Dream.

Phil’s Journal Entry March 1st, 2013 – “Had a dream where I was on this strange cobble stone street, there was some restaurant I think it said Vic’s. Met this cute girl she told me her name was Jane.”

Literal Precognitive Dream

In the case of a literal precognitive dream, the setting, the objects, the people in the event all match the dreamed content from the past. This is the type of dream that defies all the arguments of confirmation-bias for the dreamer and is part of their own edification regarding the dream reality dyad that covertly exists. This is where the dream world and the physical world bridge. This is where you if you are a dreamer must cross to get to this next set.

Ambient Lucid Precognitive Dream

This is a lucid dream where the dreamer becomes aware that they are dreaming. However, the focus state is in the precognitive layer of the dreaming spectrum. The dreamer not only will remember the dream but will be fully awake and aware that they are dreaming.

Phil’s Journal Entry March 1st, 2013 – “Had this really intense lucid dream where I was on a cobble stone road near some restaurant named Old Vic Fish and Chips. There was this cute girl there who said her name was Jane.”

Ambient Lucid Precognitive Dream

In ambient lucid precognitive dreams the dreamer takes no direct action and just goes with the flow. But what if you decide to take action?

Active Lucid Precognitive Dreams

Like the Ambient dream except the dreamer takes action because they now have the ability to make logical choices and excercise free will that come with being lucid and actively changes the precognitive dream.

Phil’s Journal Entry March 1st, 2013 – “Had this really intense lucid dream where I was on a cobble stone road near some restaurant named Old Vic Fish and Chips. There was this cute girl there who said her name was Jane. I wanted to prove to myself that I was dreaming so I put a triangle on her forehead.”

Active Lucid Precognitive Dream

In the case of an active lucid precognitive dream, you are now affecting causality through changing the precognitive content. If you haven’t done this yet, now you know.

This is a picture of the person whom like Jane was in the right dream at the right time when I was mapping the dream layers. Like Phil, I controlled the dream and proved it was a dream by putting a triangle on this person’s forehead. In the past, in nothing more than the type of dreams we have when we sleep a night.

Triangle Induced By Altering Precognitive Dream

When the dream came true, I was at work at the Pen Mar Cinima in Penticton which is sadly closed down now, this was back in 1998. To this person’s unknowing suprise my alteration took place when the dream came true.

This is at best, photographic evidence of a precognitive dream. It was pretty wild. I had him write a testimony to try to gather what ever evidence I could that this really did take place as a veridical altered precognitive dream experience.

Hand Written Testimony regarding phenomenology

This is a photo of both photographs that I had, a polaroid and regular film from back in the day.

Both Pictures of Triangle

This is an ongoing personal investigation into precognitive dream potential. In no way is the information contained in this article claiming to be psychic or precognitive in nature. Not all textual translations of a dream can clearly depict the vast dream imagery and symbolism and what may be condensed down to a line of text could represent a largely descriptive visual dream environment. Low-order spelling and grammatical errors are expected as the material is written quickly and right after waking up from sleep. This text shall remain unchanged from the time it was posted, and should rehash into the MD5 code outside of the MD5 tags. In the future should any of the dream context match a real-life event the author will attempt to capture images or articles and describe how these events interconnect with the context within the dream.

All persons, characters and events contained in this article are as they appeared from within a dream, any similarities to public officials or people is completely coincidence and is not meant to reflect this person or persons in any way.

[Journal Entry]

Dream 1: This dream is heavily layered by dream 2, but I remember faintly a wolf and strong symbolism in the scenery around me. Very hazy energy, strong contrast in colors. I remember thinking that it was Cochitlehua’s dream not my own. He wasn’t in the dream, but the energetic patterns and symbols including the wolf seemed to remind me of him.

Dream 2: This was another dream with skepticism and arguing over “confirmation bias” in favor over precognitive events in dreams. My side of the argument was: “Just because an argument exists does not make that argument fact. Arguments are not evidence and exist as a convenience only to dismiss genuine events in favor of a long established bias against claims of the what is considered ‘paranormal’. Dreams and lucid dreams have long been in debate due to skepticism and we know today through sleep laboratory research that dreaming and lucid dreaming exists. Even though these are subjective experiences, the general rule applies in favor of dreaming not against it. Unlike religion, dreams are and active experience, not a belief-system. One does not belief in dreaming, one dreams and has an experience of dreaming. Precognitive dreaming is an experience, not a belief that comes with dreaming. Like Lucid Dreaming, not everyone experiences it but it is part of dreaming.

The next argument was anecdotal evidence and I argued that all dreaming is anecdotal, there is no way to confirm that anything dreamed of is real. Everyone could be lying that the dream period but this is how using subjective arguments to win a debate becomes fallacious as the argument favors bias opinion over fact in place of actual experience. I tell the skeptic that far more evidence in the historic record favors dreams as having prophetic or future-telling reality then there is evidence that absolutely no dreams have ever come true. The personal anecdotal claims even today are in large numbers of the population and shouldn’t be ignored and ruled out using fallacious arguments only. We are not arguing a belief-system rather something that is experienced through the act of dreaming.

The argument that absolutely no evidence of psychic phenomena exist, yet I again cite that there have been several cases of police using psychics to help solve crime, the US military has had success with remote viewing. The argument count the hits and ignore the misses is brought up and I argue that it also is fallacious as it ignores the hits and only accepts the misses. Again we have personal bias in arguments that are used in attempt to dismiss fact for fiction and that is not good critical thinking. That is simply dismissing evidence in favor of belief. There is more evidence of psychic phenomena then there is evidence that psychic phenomena absolutely does not exist.

I say how convenient that we have all these bias arguments to strip away personal experience and the fact people have them, to support a belief-system that is completely bias in favor of opinion over the experience of another. How can anyone say with certainty that what another person experiences is not what they claim? Then we may as well say everything we dream, or think or feel is non-existent and a lie because all arguments skeptics have dismiss with great convenience what another person can subjectively know through experience, yet that is a fundamental learning process that has long been established and even our natural survival is dependent on learning through personal experience. These arguments are greatly flawed and only favors the skeptic’s belief and not experience itself.

Dream 2: In this dream, I am in Penticton visiting Todd. He’s a bit disappointed in our facebook chat and is not sure what to make of it.
“You’ve been my friend for a very long time. Don’t let our differences of opinion put a wedge in our friendship. I still want to hang out and drink beer.”, I tell him.

“I drove down to Penticton so we could hangout. It always seems that if I want to see my friends, I have to drive to accommodate them. I wanted to thank you for coming out my way.”

I notice that there is a computer but the screen is way to small, it causes the much needed reality-check to induce lucidity. At this point we are heading out to get a beer. Todd is walking and I float on my back with my hands behind me head as I talk with him, “Walking is for chumps.”

He looks at me strangely as I am clearly defying physics and floating on my back. We are heading to an elevator and it causes the dream to shift rapidly.

I loose track of Todd and I am now on a road in front of a antique shop. It is quite a beautiful day, the sky is vivid with clouds, the street bustling with people. I look at the shop which has a very antique look to the outside veneer. I affirm that I am dreaming. I attempt to change the dream but it resist. It feels like I am being entranced by the sense of reality in the dream. I affirm again that I am dreaming. “This is a dream, it’s just a dream.”, I think.

The entire scene is very rigid, and the entrancement is hard to break free from. I struggle with trying to change it to affirm a point but nothing responds as it should. My struggle doesn’t last much longer and I wake up.
TTB: 5:22am TA: 6:40am

I work for a bit and go back for a nap:
Dream 3: This is an interesting dream in the context of dreaming. I fall into the dream semi-lucid and am stuck again trying to figure out how I got into a new reality focus. “It’s a dream, of this I am certain.”, I think to myself. “Which then begs the question, what is a dream?”

I try to stop engaging the entrancement caused by the ebb and flow of the dream reality. I sit and close my eyes to limit virtual sensory input. “I am here, in a focus state self-realized and aware. This “here” is in my mind, it’s a dream but it’s real to me.” I think.

I think about all experience of reality both subjective and objective, all of it must be rendered by the mind. This “now” moment in a dream is similar to any “now” moment when I am self-realized. In turn, every moment stacks up into a canvas of experience both physical and non-physical. “I am reality, I am the dreamer. This is my canvas. My mind.”, I ponder.

The dream shifts focus and I am again with Todd. This time via Facebook and in a discussion. He is expressing his skepticism and I am reading his arguments. I find it odd, that I am even reading a Facebook page and engaging a friend via this interface in a dream. I look at the computer screen, all the Facebook icons are present, the website is rendered perfectly and the text is clear and coherent on the page.

I read what I have written and see the whole argument between Todd and I as materialism verses idealism, Plato verses Descartes. I think, “My reality is thought, it is self-awareness. It is subjective and entangled into non-linear and non-locality. It is this way for everyone, they too must render reality at run-time, experience themselves within dream and waking focus states. The arguments are all favoring only one aspect of reality and not the long standing journey offered by both.”

I think about the enigma, how I am in a dream right now in a potentially non-linear and non-localized state. Clearly non-locality is present, even if this local has nothing to do with waking reality. It is a place where I am self-realized and aware of self. That in turn is a moment of realization, therefor reality. This state is real. The argument to say it is not is in error.

There is so much I want to write, but because I realize it’s a dream I realize that the importance is irrelevant. Todd has the same potential to drive the same car of experience as anyone who wishes to see both sides of the coin. The journey into self-realization is active not passive. I am here because I want to be here, with full waking mind. It is my intent driving action making real my awareness of dreams. It has always been that way.

I scroll up and see his arguments about precognition and laugh at all the ad hominem structured argument thinking. Arguments and opinions never measure to facts. One cannot substitute an argument in favor of another’s experience, that itself is character prejudice and a form of liable. Who but I can say I am here? No one. But I cannot lie to myself and believe I am not here in a dream, because another thinks it to be irrelevant.

I think long and hard about the arguments, the pointlessness of denial, doubt and belief-system orientated thinking. I can tell you grand stories about the ocean, but if you are afraid to swim, you will never experience it like me. Fear, doubt and belief cloud our dreams. They respond to our emotions and intent. Dreams only reveal yourself only what you believe yourself to be, the world to be. It is a thought-based system that you control consciously or unconsciously. It is an egg that must crack, the yolk must spill out and you along with it. The flow, the tempo is what brings greater knowings. I laugh with a warm feeling of love and respect for my friend Todd, our history is so deep and long that he simply has forgotten and has become entranced by belief an notions of a physical universe again. If he could only remember the stage, when it is stripped from us and we remain.

I remember death in many cycles, the collapse of waking reality. The rebirth into the same very realm where I dream right now. Everything interconnected, everything in various focus states within a much larger, grander reality, one that has many Universes not the one. M-theory is a better substitute to take science into a multi-verse of which true reality is.

I push back away from the computer and dissolve the dream into the void. I shut down all the chatter but new dreams come to compel me and entrance my focus into new directions. I am flying now, over mountains and hills, it’s a form of free fall and I spiral downward and land in a busy parking lot area.

I am still dreaming I assure myself, the stage now has changed and the actors have come. I look at the people and recognize a few of them from my waking life. I see a family that I know and have not seen for a while. This makes me happy. I feel lots of love and compassion as I observe the area.

I see Anderson Cooper from CNN and I decide to walk over to him. Bill Maher is also present and in a fully lucid state, I simply am compelled to examine the dream characters. I walk over and introduce myself, “Good-day gentlemen. Another fine dream I find myself in.”

The both look at me taken a bit back by my comment. “Are you on our panel?”, Anderson asks me.

“Yes, I believe I am.”, I reply.

“Great, we are on in fifteen minutes.”, he directs me to some trailer where there are people doing make-up and I walk in and sit down. I am in a suit and they are working on putting makeup on, fixing hair and I get a quick make over. I know I am dreaming but go with the flow, the entrancement which comes when one focus state favors another is evident, but I am already satisfied with tonights dream.

I am no one some panel on CNN and we are talking about my favorite topic… precognitive dreams and deja vu. It doesn’t seem that Anderson Cooper or Bill Maher are present though. In fact, the panel switch happened so fast that I lost my lucid focus state and became entranced again by the dream.

Regardless, I still manage to talk about precognitive dream experiences and causality. The interview ends and I am now walking back to the parking lot. I’m a bit dazed and confused due to the shift in left-brain function, the acute waking knowing is clearly gone but I am definitely struggling to get it back. I come back into focus and realize I am still dreaming.

They want me back a second time, I am talking it producers and stage-hands. I smile and agree. I look at the asphalt and the rock and cracks in the rock remind me of fractal hypnogogic patterns, they start to shift slightly and I see the hypnogogia, the geometry and mesh of the dream.

I walk over and talk with the family friend, she tells me that she heard I was on CNN. I told her that I had an interview and all went well. I tell her they want me back again so perhaps she can see the next broadcast. I tell her I’m just happy that I got to see her and her family, that it has been a long time.

It don’t get to chat too much longer, as I am woken up.
